Biography
MATSURI is a six-member group produced by Akimoto Yasushi, focusing on bringing the essence of Showa-era pop and enka music into the modern day.They are part of a larger project that includes another group, SHOW-WA, both formed from an audition held in 2023 by three major entertainment companies: avex, Japan Music Entertainment, and Y&N Brothers. MATSURI debuted on January 22, 2025, with the single "Adventure Nakameguro", which topped the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. The group's members are Watarabe Shin, Hashizume Kenji, Onodera Tsubasa, Matsuoka Takumi, Suzuki Wataru, and Yanagida Yuuki. Prior to their major debut, MATSURI gained traction through various performances and collaborations, including a nationwide tour at AEON Malls starting December 24, 2023. Their first original song, "Imasara Kakkotsuketerarenai"(2024) was featured as the ending theme for the February-March episodes of Fuji TV's Mezamashi 8.
