SHOW-WA, a male vocal group produced by Yasushi Akimoto, emerged from the collaborative audition project "Yume wo Akirameru na! Audition" organized by Avex, JAPAN MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, and Y&N Brothers in mid-2023. The members are Terada Shinjiro, Yamamoto Keishi, Mukaiyama Takeshi, Shiota Masaki, Aoyama Jun, and Izutsu Yuuta. This unique audition specifically targeted men aged 25 and older, drawing over 3,000 applicants and ultimately selecting 12 members to form SHOW-WA alongside their brother group, MATSURI. Both groups are dedicated to reviving and adapting Showa-era and Showa pop music for the modern age, with a particular focus on Showa-era mood songs. Their mission is to bridge the gap between generations by reintroducing the musical aesthetics of the past in a way that resonates today. The group is gearing up for their release Kimi no Oujisama (2024) promising a blend of nostalgic melodies and contemporary energy.
