Biography
Mono & Nikitaman, a German duo, was formed in 2003 by Monika Jaksch and Nick Tilstra, who drew their musical influences from reggae, dancehall, hip hop, pop, and punk. The duo released their debut album Das Spiel Beginnt in 2004, followed by Für Immer (2006), Ausser Kontrolle (2008), and Unter Freunden (2011). Their live album Live! was released in 2012. In 2015, they launched their own label M&N Records with the release of Im Rauch der Bengalen. The album Guten Morgen es Brennt, released in 2018, featured collaborations with Sookee and ZSK and reached number 13 on the German charts. Their album Autonome Zone was released in 2022. Mono & Nikitaman are known for their socially conscious lyrics.
