Richie Campbell, born Ricardo Dias de Lima Ventura da Costa on 25 November 1986, in Lisbon, Portugal, is a trailblazing R&B artist known for his soulful voice and versatile musical talent. Starting his career in reggae, the star quickly gained popularity with his unique blend of reggae, soul, and R&B, establishing himself as one of the leading figures in the Portuguese music scene. His musical journey began in 2004 when he joined the band Stepacide, later transitioning to a solo career that allowed him to fully explore his artistic potential. His debut album, My Path, released in 2010, showcased his reggae roots and earned critical acclaim. As his sound evolved, he embraced R&B, integrating elements of hip-hop and pop, which broadened his appeal and showcased his versatility as an artist. Over the years, Richie Campbell went on to release several successful albums, including Focused (2012), In the 876 (2015), and Lisboa (2017), each demonstrating his growth and innovation. His collaborations with international artists, such as Sara Tavares and Agent Sasco, have highlighted his ability to seamlessly blend different genres and cultures. 2023 saw the release of Latin-tinged LP Heartbreak & Other Stories while in 2024 he teamed up with Van Zee for the single "It Will Hurt Both Ways," which featured "Even" on the A-side and "Born Rich" on the B-side.
