Mo-Dettes, an all-female post-punk band from the United Kingdom, was formed in 1979 by guitarist Kate Korris and bassist Jane Crockford. The lineup was completed with Ramona Carlier on vocals and June Miles-Kingston on drums. Their breakthrough came with the self-released single "White Mice" in mid-1979, which became a hit on the indie charts. The band gained further exposure through appearances on BBC Radio 1's John Peel show, performing tracks such as "Norman (He's No Rebel)", "Dark Park Creeping", and "Kray Twins". In November 1980, Mo-Dettes signed to Decca Records subsidiary Deram and released their debut album The Story So Far. The album featured original pop-punk tracks alongside covers of "Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones and Ãdith Piaf's "Milord". The band also provided backing vocals on John Cale's track "Fighter Pilot" from his 1981 album Honi Soit, billed as Bomberettes. Mo-Dettes had minor chart success with "Paint It Black", which just missed the UK top 40, and their final single "Tonight". In February 1982, Carlier left the band, and Crockford took over vocals temporarily before Sue Slack replaced her. The group disbanded permanently on November 11, 1982.
