Biography

Miho Hazama is a Tokyo born jazz composer and performer who leads the m_unit ensemble. Signing to Universal Music subsidiary jazz label Verve in 2012, she released her debut album 'Journey to Journey' to critical acclaim. As composer and arranger for other musicians, she has worked with a wide variety of artists including Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Ashley Bouder Project Ballet Company, Yamaha Symphonic Bandm and Ryuichi Sakamoto. In 2019 she became the chief conductor of the Danish Radio Big Band following her work with Metropole Orkest, WDR Big Band and Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra. She also works as an Associate Artistic Director of the New York Jazzharmonic.
