Biography
Mew, a Danish alternative rock band, was formed in 1995 in Hellerup, a suburb of Copenhagen. The group consisted of Jonas Bjerre on lead vocals, Johan Wohlert on bass, and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen on drums. They initially gained attention with their debut album A Triumph for Man (1997) and its follow-up Half the World is Watching Me (2000). Their breakthrough came with the release of Frengers in 2003, which won them "Album of the Year" and "Band of the Year" at the 2004 Steppeulven awards. The band's subsequent album, And the Glass Handed Kites, was released in 2005 and received critical acclaim. In 2006, Wohlert left the band to focus on his personal life, but returned in 2013 for their sixth studio album, + - (2015). Mew's discography includes notable albums such as No More Stories Are Told Today I'm Sorry They Washed Away // No More Stories, The World Is Grey, I'm Tired, Let's Wash Away (2009), and Visuals (2017).
