Biography
Metro Zu was an American hip-hop group from Miami, Florida. Formed in 2007, the ensemble consisted of the members Lofty305, Ruben Slikk and Freebase, who were later joined by musician Poshstronaut. The groupâs musical style was associated with the cloud rap and alternative hip-hop genres. Their recording history featured the self-released mixtapes KushPak (2010), KushPak 2 (2010), ElectroZlapp (2010) and Buddha Therapy (2011). In 2012, the ensemble issued the mixtapes Mink Rug and Zuology, the latter of which was identified by the publication Pitchfork as a formative rap album. The group released the compilation KushPak 3 in 2013. During its career, the ensemble was involved in the Miami art scene and participated in annual Art Basel events. Members of the group collaborated with musicians including Lil Peep and Denzel Curry. The band became inactive in 2017.
