Biography

Meriwether, an American alternative rock band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was formed in 2003. The group released their debut full-length LP, Make Your Move, in 2005 on GVE Records, selling over 10,000 copies and playing over 300 shows to promote the album. In 2006, Meriwether signed to Suretone Records, which re-released Make Your Move in 2007 with some tracks removed. The band then recorded their second album, Sons of Our Fathers, with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson; however, the album was not officially released until June 14, 2021. Meriwether independently released a new album, Plug in the Snakes, at the end of 2009. The band played their last show with original members Stefon Bergeron and Josh Barbier on July 16, 2010. In 2013, the band performed a show at the Varsity Theatre in Baton Rouge with all original members.
