Biography

Melleny Melody, born Melleny Brown on May 12, 1969, in Toronto, Ontario, is a Canadian singer and actress. She began her career as a voice actress for animated series such as Care Bears and Inspector Gadget. In the 1990s, she transitioned into music, initially performing live in Toronto before becoming a recording artist under the name Melleny Melody. She later adopted the moniker Melleefresh for her electronic dance music projects. Her breakthrough came with collaborations such as “Afterhours,” with deadmau5, which earned them a Juno Award nomination in 2008. Throughout her career, she has worked with various producers and released numerous singles and compilations, including “Hey Baby,” “Sex Slave,” and “Attention Whore.” Melody also teamed with DJ Peace Harvest to form Play Records and has served as its president since 2001.
