Biography

Johannes Oerding is a German pop, rock and folk singer, composer and guitarist. He was born on December 26, 1981 in MÃ¼nster, Westphalia. In 2009, he gained public recognition with the album Erste Wahl, which was awarded gold, after having already performed as a support act for Simply Red, Ich + Ich, Ina MÃ¼ller and Stefanie Heinzmann in the previous years. Two years later, the album Boxer is released, reaching number 11 in the charts. The albums that followed were even more popular: FÃ¼r Immer ab Jetzt (No. 4 in 2013), Alles Brennt (No. 3 in 2015) and Kreise (No. 2 in 2017) were all awarded gold records, while Alles Brennt even went platinum. The albums ensure further national recognition. In September 2013, Johannes Oerding represented the federal state of Hamburg at the Bundesvision Song Contest and came second with "Nichts geht mehr". In the following years, he can be seen supporting Joe Cocker, on tour with the Scorpions and as a support act for Peter Maffay, with whom he writes several songs for his album Jetzt! Oerding's first live album Alles Brennt - Live in Hamburg was released in 2018. After a duet with rapper Sido on the track "Pyramiden", Oerding returns in 2020 with his sixth studio album Konturen, from which the hit single "An Guten Tagen" is released. In 2021, in addition to "Die guten Zeiten" with fellow German pop artist Wincent Weiss, there will also be a release with author Sebastian Fitzek. Oerding has been part of the TV show Sing meinen Song on Vox since 2019 and will be a jury member on The Voice of Germany in 2021. At the end of 2022, the singer returns with the album Plan A. The longplayer jumps back to number 1 in the German album charts. The singer also achieved number 1 success in Germany with the follow-up Hotel in 2026.
