Matt Walker, born in 1973 , is an Australian blues musician. He began performing publicly at age 14 and joined The Broderick Smith Band in 1994, contributing to albums like My Shiralee. Walker's releases include I Listen to the Night (1997), which was nominated for two ARIA Awards, and Soul Witness (2000), which won the ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album. He has toured with notable artists including Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, and the Bad Seeds. In 2003, he formed The Necessary Few, releasing the album Navigational Skills. His solo album In Echoes of Dawn (2012) led to the formation of Lost Ragas. Walker has also worked extensively with Tex Perkins.
