Biography
Born on October 27, 1967 in Santa Cruz, California (USA), Scott Weiland rose to fame as lead singer of alternative rock band Stone Temple Pilots in the 1990s, following in the footsteps of the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Suffering from multiple addictions, and after numerous stays in rehab, he was finally discharged and embarked on a solo career in 1998 with the album 12 Bar Blues . He returned to Stone Temple Pilots for the 1999 album N°4 , but his demons once again drove him out. He was rescued by former members of Guns N' Roses, led by guitarist Slash, and joined them in Velvet Revolver. But problems persisted, and he left the "supergroup" on April 1, 2008. At the same time, he put an end to his cover band, Camp Freddy. He rejoined Stone Temple Pilots when they reformed, but this did not prevent him from pursuing his solo career with two new albums: Happy Galoshes (2008) and The Most Wonderful Times in the Year (2011). He left the band for the last time in 2013 and released an album with the Art Of Anarchy line-up in early 2015. However, he gives priority to a new record, Blaster, which he intends to defend on stage with The Wildabouts. He died on December 3, 2015 at the age of 48 in Bloomington, Minnesota, while on tour.
