Gary Reed, known professionally as Mastamind, was an American rapper from Detroit, born on December 28, 1972. While attending Osborn High School, Mastamind passed a demo to fellow student Esham, who formed the group Natas with Mastamind and T-N-T. In 1995, Mastamind released his debut solo EP, Lickkuiddrano. His debut album, Themindzi, was released in 2000 and received critical acclaim in the underground music scene. Notable releases included StreetValu (2003), Hellrazer (2006), Toxsic Avenger (2009), and The Mastapiece (2012). He performed at the 11th and 12th annual Gathering of the Juggalos in 2010 and 2011. In 2014, he contributed a verse to "Whats Right" alongside Detroit artists Bizarre and Jeremiah Ferguson. Mastamind's final album, The Ultimate Warrior, was released in 2021.
