Biography

Mary Youngblood, born in Sacramento, California, is an American flutist of Aleut and Seminole descent. Her debut album The Offering (1998) was recorded in a natural acoustic chamber at Moaning Cavern in California. Youngblood's subsequent albums include Heart of the World (1999), which won the INDIE Award for Best Native American Recording and the 2000 Native American Music Award (NAMMY) for Best New Age Recording, and Beneath the Raven Moon (2002), which earned her first Grammy Award for Best Native American Music Album. Her fourth album, Feed the Fire (2004), was nominated for a Grammy, and in 2007, she won her second Grammy for Dance with the Wind (2006).
