Biography

Maria Nalbandian, known mononymously as Maria, was born on August 1, 1985, in Beirut, Lebanon. She is a singer of Armenian descent who began her career by winning the Miss Bikini Asia 2002 contest at the age of 17. Her musical journey started with the release of her debut album Elaab in 2005. In 2009, she released her second album, ÙØ±Ø¬Ø¹Øª ØªØ§ÙÙ. Maria's music videos for "Elaab" and "Bahebbak Add Eih" were directed by Jad Shwery. She also ventured into acting, starring in the movies Bedoon Raqaba and Ahasees in 2008. In 2015, Maria released her first Armenian album, Mi Eraz, which translates to a dream. That same year, she was awarded Top Beautiful Armenian Woman Worldwide and Best Showbiz Star.
