Cro (born January 31, 1990 in Mutlangen) is a rapper and singer from Germany. Born Carlo Waibel, he is considered a pioneer of the pop rap genre, also known as raop. Raop is also the name of his debut album of the same name in 2012, which took Cro to the top of the charts in Germany and Austria and went gold five times over. The single "Easy" also develops into a top hit and climbs to number 2 in Germany. Cro performs with a panda mask, which quickly becomes his trademark. The song "Einmal um die Welt" becomes a number 1 hit in Austria. Cro receives the Bambi in the National Pop category for the single "Meine Zeit" . At the beginning of 2013, Cro hits his first number 1 in Germany with "Whatever". A year later, the rapper achieved another number 1 ranking in Germany with "Traum". This was the lead single from the album Melodie . Cro's second album also made it to number 1 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Cro rides from success to success. His MTV Unplugged concert is a huge success. The accompanying album reaches number one in the charts in German-speaking countries in 2015. The single "Bye Bye" also reached number 1 in Germany.
