Dalex, born Pedro David Daleccio Torres on October 7, 1990, in Philadelphia and raised in Juana DÃaz, Puerto Rico, first came up in the 2010s as one half of the duo Jayma & Dalex alongside Jayma. The pair built an audience with songs such as "Me Encantas" and "Lento," released the mixtape The Akademy in 2014, and followed with the studio album Gravedad in 2015 before splitting in 2017. After signing with Rich Music, Dalex launched his solo career in 2018 with "Puesto Pal Millón" and the EPs License to Trap and La Nueva Ola. His breakthrough came in 2019 with "Pa Mi" alongside Rafa Pabön and the all-star "Pa Mi (Remix)," which pushed his name onto Billboardâs Latin charts, while his debut solo album Climaxxx expanded his reach with tracks such as "Cuaderno." He kept that run going in 2020 with Modo Avión and his involvement in The Academy collective, then returned in 2021 with Unisex, a more expansive project that folded EDM, R&B, and pop textures into his reggaetón base. In 2022 he released Yo Te Quiero Pa MÃ, followed by the EP Reggaetón Sex in 2023. In 2024 he was part of The Academy: Segunda Misión and also released the paired projects Area 69 (F.001) and Area 69 (F.002). In 2026 he opened another chapter with CUARTO ROJO, continuing a career defined by melodic reggaetón, Latin R&B phrasing, and a steady run of collaborative and solo releases.
