Mari Amachi is a Japanese female singer.Born on November 5, 1951 in Omiya City, Saitama Prefecture, she grew up in Nakano Ward, Tokyo. She made her debut on October 1, 1971 with "Suiro no Koi" (Water Color Love), which was released in February 1972 and reached No.1 on the Oricon Weekly Ranking, and in May 1972 with "Hitori nanai naranai" (It's Not Alone), which won the 3rd Japan Music Awards and the 5th Japan Cable Awards for Popular Music that year. In May, "Hitorinonara no Nanai" won the 3rd Japan Song Awards Broadcast Music Award and the 5th Japan Cable Awards Popular Music Award. In July of the same year, she released "Niji wo Wataru" (Across the Rainbow), and her career expanded to starring in a movie of the same name, and at the end of the year, she won the Popular Music Award at the 14th Japan Record Awards. 1973 saw a string of hits, including "Wakaba no Sasayaki (The Whisper of Young Leaves)," "Koisuru Natsu no Hi (Summer Days of Love)," and "Sora Fill Happiness. In 1974, she sang "Omoide no Serenade" at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen in the same year, and released another single, "Ai no Album" in 1975, but took a two-and-a-half-year break from 1977. After her return to work, she released songs such as "Hatsukoi no Nicola" (1980) and "Watashi wa Yuki da Hi" (1983), but they did not become big hits.
