Born Manuel Turizo Zapata, Manuel Turizo is a singer and songwriter who was born into a family of musicians on April 12, 2000, in MonterÃa, Colombia. Influenced by pop, trap, and vallenato, he developed an interest in music as a teenager and quickly gained international fame in the world of urban Latin music thanks to the success of the single âUna Lady Como Tú " ( No. 3 in Colombia, No. 2 in Mexico and Spain). In 2017, he featured on Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Valentinoâs track âBésame â (No. 6), and that same year, he enjoyed great success with âDéjate Llevarâ ( No. 8 in Spain) featuring Juan Magán and Belinda, as well as âEsperándoteâ ( No. 7 in Colombia). In 2018, he scored his first No. 1 hit (in Spain) and his first song to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (No. 94) with his collaborative single with Ozuna, âVaina Loca.â In 2019, his debut album *ADN* was released, peaking at No. 4 in Mexico and No. 75 in Spain, thanks in part to the numerous collaborations featured on the album, including Zion & Lennox, Norie, Ozuna, Darell, Nicky Jam, Sech, and Anuel AA. For his second album, *Dopamina*, released in 2021 (No. 8 in Spain), he solidified his status with the hits âQuiéreme Mientras Se Pueda " ( No. 3 in Colombia, No. 1 in Mexico), as well as "La Nota" ( No. 1) featuring Rauw Alejandro and Myke Towers, "Mala Costumbre â ( No. 3) with Wisin & Yandel, and âAmor en Comaâ ( No. 1 in Mexico) with Maluma. However, he achieved what is certainly his biggest hit with âLa Bachata " ( No. 2 in Colombia, and No. 1 in Argentina, Mexico, and Spain), a track from his third album *2000* ( No. 15 in Spain), released in 2023. The following year, Manuel Turizo began promoting his next album with the singles âBahamasâ featuring Saiko, âDios Te Cuide,â âEnhorabuena,â and âQué Pecaoâ featuring Kapo. 201, his fourth studio album, was released in 2024 and showcased his versatility, featuring a diverse selection of bachata, vallenato, merengue, and regional Mexican music tracks. He then promoted 201 with the 201 World Tour in 2025 and followed up with âMÃrame Ahora (Salud Mi Reina).â In 2026, Manuel Turizo released Apambichao, his fifth studio album blending Latin pop, Colombian influences, and Caribbean vibes, featuring Maluma, Ovy On the Drums, Luis Alfonso, Dálmata, and Dei V as guest artists. That same year, he also appeared on Rawayanaâs âInglés en Miami, â which reached number 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.
