Biography

Piso 21 is a Colombian Latin pop group that emerged in 2007 in Medellín, gaining widespread recognition in 2012 with their debut album Piso 21 and earning a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Initially composed of Pablo Mejía (Pablito), Juan David Huertas (El Profe), David Escobar (Dim), and Juan David Castaño (El Llane), the group later welcomed David Lorduy Hernández (Lorduy) after El Llane departed to pursue a solo career. Their breakthrough came with "Me Llamas" (2016), later remixed with Maluma, which propelled them to the forefront of the Latin pop and urban music scene. The hits "Besándote" and "Déjala Que Vuelva" featuring Manuel Turizo further solidified their success, leading to the release of their second album Ubuntu (2018). They continued their momentum with El Amor en los Tiempos del Perreo (2021) and 777 (2022), collaborating with artists like Paulo Londra, Myke Towers, and Feid. Their fifth full-length, Los Muchachos (2023), showcased their continued evolution in Latin pop, and was followed by 2.1 (2024), featuring contributions from Ozuna and Wisin.
