El Alfa, born Emanuel Herrera Batista on December 18, 1990, in Bajos de Haina, Dominican Republic, started pursuing music in his teens and first broke through after a short-lived duo with Eddy Wilson, moving into a solo run that included early dembow staples such as âCoche Bomba,â âTarzan,â and âMuevete Jevi.â After years of street singles and regional collaborations, he expanded his reach with the EP Disciplina in 2017, then pushed further with the albums El Hombre in 2018, DEMBO$$ in 2019, and El Androide in 2020, a period that also brought bigger crossover records and collaborations including âMi Mamiâ with Cardi B, âPamâ with Daddy Yankee and Justin Quiles, âBebéâ with Camilo, and âCoronao Nowâ with Lil Pump. He kept that run going with SABIDURÃA and SAGITARIO in 2022 and EL REY DEL DEMBOW in 2023, while building a catalog that also linked him with artists such as Bad Bunny, Farruko, Nicky Jam, Myke Towers, J Balvin, and Anitta. In 2024, El Alfa paired the viral âESTEâ with his El Mejor del Planeta tour, then in 2025 announced plans to retire from music and framed that year around the farewell El Ãltimo Baile world tour. He closed 2025 with HASTA LUEGO (Vol. 1) and returned in 2026 with ADIOS, extending a career that made him one of dembowâs defining international figures.
