Biography

Man Without Country, often abbreviated as MWC, is a British electronic music project originating from Wales. Formed in 2007 by Ryan James and Thomas Greenhalf, the group took its name from a line in the film The Terminal. They released their debut EP, King Complex, in 2011, followed by the studio album Foe in 2012. The album was mixed by Ken Thomas, recognized for his work with Sigur Rós. During that period, the ensemble supported M83 on the Hurry Up, We're Dreaming tour. In 2015, they issued their second studio album, Maximum Entropy, which featured a cover of the Beloved song “Sweet Harmony”. Following Greenhalf's departure in 2016, James continued the project solo. He released the third studio album, Infinity Mirror, in 2018, and followed it with the EP Forever Endeavour. Man Without Country continued to release new material, including the 2021 album Bloods, Side A. The project is known for its blend of synth-pop, dream pop, and shoegazing.
