Magic Kids was an American indie pop and rock band from Memphis, Tennessee. Formed in 2009, the group consisted of Bennett Foster (vocals, guitar), Will McElroy (keyboards), Ben Bauermeister (drums), Michael Peery (bass, vocals), Alex Gates (guitar, vocals), and Alice Buchanan (violin, keyboards, drums, vocals). Their debut single, "Hey Boy", was released in 2009. The band's first album, Memphis, followed in 2010 under True Panther Sounds, a label of Matador Records. Foster, Gates, and McElroy were previously members of the band The Barbaras.
