LUAMEL is a South Korean post-rock band that debuted in October 2018. The group consists of four members: Kyeong Cheol (guitar), Young Soo (drums), Hwi Jun (vocals, synths, and guitar), and Seok June (bass). Yong Hyuk, a guitarist and trombonist, left the band in January 2025. Known for their exceptional musicianship and strong teamwork, LUAMEL creates immersive, deep, and quiet soundscapes that leave a powerful impression on listeners. Starting with their first single "Untitled" in 2018, they have been building their unique musical style, spanning genres like post-rock, ambient, rock, and pop. The bandâs name combines "Lua," meaning "moon," and "Camel," symbolizing a desert traveler; their music is like the quiet glow of a desert night, providing a captivating experience that transports listeners to a different space. In the year of their debut, they won the Grand Prize at the Seoul Arena Music Festival and was the Winner of Band Discovery in 2021. Since their debut, LUAMEL has released three EPs, including LIVELAPSE in 2018, and 12 singles such as "Covet" in 2020 and "Clearly" in 2024. They also participated in the OST for Pachinko, an Apple TV+ series, in 2022. Their single "Thread," released on July 19, 2025, entered Melonâs Top 500 chart at number 23 the day after its release.
