Biography

Lotte Anker, born in 1958 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a saxophonist and composer known for her contributions to jazz music. She studied music at the University of Copenhagen from 1980 to 1984. In 1988, she formed the Lotte Anker/Mette Petersen Quartet with pianist Mette Petersen, which later included trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær in 1992. Anker also co-founded the Copenhagen Art Ensemble with Ture Larsen in 1996 and has been a key member of various improvisational groups. Her discography includes notable albums such as Poetic Justice (2001), Alien Huddle (2008), and Birthmark (2013). Anker's collaborations span across different genres, including recordings with Craig Taborn, Gerald Cleaver, and Sylvie Courvoisier.
