Los Lara, a family band hailing from Oaxaca, have gained recognition for their modern brand of sierreño-music, carving a distinct niche in Regional Mexican music. Founded by Liborio Lara alongside his sons Carlos and Edu Lara in the late 2010s, the group debuted in 2017 with the album Prometo. However, it wasnât until later that year that Los Lara broke into the mainstream, signing with Monterreyâs Serca Music and releasing the viral hit "Fumando Mota," featured on their album Desde la RaÃz, which also included fan favorites like "Tú" and "En la Nube." The album peaked at number 25 on the Latin Albums chart and established them as a force to be reckoned with in the Regional Mexican music scene. Continuing their upward trajectory, Los Lara followed up in 2023 with the LP Recordando al Rey del Corrido. That year, they also released the album Quién Los Viera!!, featuring contributions from Santa Fe Klan and Tornillo. 2024 saw the release of the live album En Vivo Desde El Rancho and the live EP Enamorados de la Muerte. They followed those releases by issuing the 4:20 EP in 2025, which includes tracks such as âMarihuano Soy,â âSe Va,â âRunaway,â âAnsiedadâ and âEl Loquerón.â signaling a push into broader streaming playlists. Simultaneously, they dropped Evolucionando, a 10-track album that included a techno version of "Enamorado de la Muerte" as well as "Pájaro Cumbia" with Grupo Conspiración and "Qué Te Pasa."
