Biography

Formed in 2022 in Washington's Yakima Valley, Yahritza y Su Esencia rapidly carved a niche for themselves in the world of Regional Mexican music. Embodying the urban sierreÃ±o subgenre, this dynamic trio is composed of three siblings: Yahritza MartÃnez on vocals and acoustic guitar, Armando "Mando" MartÃnez on twelve-string guitar, and Jairo MartÃnez on acoustic bass. Their talent was evident from the beginning when their debut single "Soy el Ãnico" went straight to number 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, also reaching number 20 on the Billboard 200. The song quickly gained platinum status in the United States and was followed by the release of their first EP Obsessed later that year. Driven by the popularity of tracks like "Soy el Ãnico" and "Esta Noche," Obsessed cracked the Top 10 of the US Latin Albums chart and received platinum certification shortly after. Preceded by the IvÃ¡n Cornejo collaborative track "Inseparables," their second extended play Obsessed Pt. 2 arrived in September 2023 and contained the hit single "FrÃ¡gil," a romantic cumbia track featuring Grupo Frontera that peaked at number 7 in Mexico and number 69 in the United States.
