Los 3 Sudamericanos, a Paraguayan pop band formed in Asunción in 1959, initially consisted of Alma MarÃa Vaesken, Johnny Torales, and Casto DarÃo MartÃnez. They were signed by Columbia Argentina to record their debut album in Buenos Aires, which achieved success despite mixed reactions in Paraguay due to modernized arrangements of traditional themes. The trio relocated to Spain in 1965, gaining significant popularity and recording for the Belter label. Notable albums include Los 3 Sudamericanos (1967), El funeral del labrador (1967), and Cantan al Paraguay (1971). In 1984, MartÃnez left the group. Daniel Barrera joined in 1988, and was later replaced by Dioni Velázquez in 1990. The band toured internationally, receiving a gold disc for their hits and performing at Paraguay's Bicentennial celebrations in 2011.
