Lori Cullen, born in 1973 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, is a singer known for her work in jazz and pop genres. She released her debut album Garden Path in 2000, marking the beginning of her solo career. In 2002, she released So Much, an album featuring jazz standards, followed by Uneven Hill in 2004, which showcased her original folk-pop songwriting. During this period, Cullen kept her jazz and folk performances distinct but later integrated the two genres. Her song "Away So Long," co-written with Brian MacMillan, won the 2005 Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award. In 2006, she released Calling for Rain, an album of covers that blended pop and jazz influences, earning a Juno Award nomination for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. Cullen's subsequent albums include Buttercup Bugle (2007), That Certain Chartreuse (2011), and Sexsmith Swinghammer Songs (2016).
