Gabrielle Cavassa (born Julyâ¯5â¯1994 in Escondido, California) is an American jazz vocalist of Italian descent who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Sanâ¯Franciscoâ¯Stateâ¯University. After competing in the 11th season of American Idol in 2012, she relocated to Newâ¯Orleans in 2017, joined the local scene, and toured with Adonisâ¯Rose and the Newâ¯Orleans Jazz Orchestra, trumpeter Irvinâ¯Mayfield, and drummerâsinger Jamisonâ¯Ross, who coâproduced her debut, Gabrielle Cavassa, released on Augustâ¯21â¯2020. In 2021 she won the Sarahâ¯Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition at the Jamesâ¯Moody Jazz Festival. She appeared on Joshuaâ¯Redmanâs Whereâ¯Areâ¯We (2023) and signed with Blueâ¯Noteâ¯Records to record her label debut, Diavola, released in May 2026.
