Biography

Lola Yuldasheva, born on September 4, 1985 in Uzbekistan, is a singer and songwriter. She initially performed under the stage name Maya, singing mostly in Russian. Lola rose to prominence in Uzbekistan with her song "Muhabbatim" ("My Love") in 2003. Her debut studio album Netayin? was released in 2002. In October 2005, she married and went on an indefinite hiatus but returned to show business in 2011 with a series of solo concerts entitled Senga (For You). She made her film debut in the 2004 Uzbek film Sevinch and received positive reviews for her performance. In November 2019, Lola released a music video for her single "Sevgingni menga ayt" (Tell Me About Your Love) criticizing censorship of singers and musicians in Uzbekistan. The video went viral and was hailed as a "social protest" by many critics and fans.
