Liz Damon's Orient Express was an American soft rock band from Hawaii, featuring lead singer Liz Damon. The group initially formed with two female backup singers and a rotating backup band, deriving its name from the original Asian members of the band. Their breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of their hit single "1900 Yesterday". This song peaked at number 33 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number 15 on the Canadian charts, also reaching number 4 on Billboard's Easy Listening survey in early 1971. The band was the house band at the Garden Bar at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for 18 months and recorded their first album, At the Garden Bar, Hilton Hawaiian Village, which was originally released on Makaha Records and later picked up by White Whale Records. Their second chart single "Loneliness Remembers What Happiness Forgets" was released in late 1971 under Anthem label. The group released three more albums during the 1970s, consisting mostly of covers, and a comedy album in 1979. Liz Damon's Orient Express performed in Las Vegas until their breakup in the mid-1980s.
