Eliane Messaouda Serfati, known professionally as Line Monty, and born in 1926 in Algiers, Algeria, was a Jewish singer. She began her singing career after receiving vocal and diction training, achieving immediate success. Her breakthrough came when she won the Ãdith-Piaf Prize and the first prize at Olympia. Line Monty's repertoire included the genres Chââbi, rumba, and Franco-Arabic, with notable songs including "Ana louliya" and "L'Orientale", which was composed by Youssef Hagège and became immensely popular and was frequently covered by other artists. She performed extensively across Europe, North America, South America, and the Middle East. In 1978, Line Monty released her self-titled album Line Monty. After her death in Paris in August 2003, Line Monty's contributions to music were celebrated in the documentary Le Port des amours, directed by Jacqueline Gozland in 2008.
