Diamanté Anthony Blackmon, known professionally as Gordo and formerly as Carnage, is an American-Nicaraguan record producer and DJ who was born in 1991 in Washington, D.C.. He was raised in Guatemala before returning to the United States at age ten, and he began performing in small clubs at age 16. Blackmon established his career in the EDM and trap genres as âCarnageâ, releasing the breakthrough single âBricksâ (2014) in collaboration with Migos. His debut studio album, Papi Gordo, was released (2015) and reached Number 1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The recording featured the single âI Like Tuhâ (2015), which earned a gold certification from the RIAA. After releasing his second album, Battered Bruised & Bloody (2018), Blackmon rebranded as Gordo in 2022 to signal a transition toward house and techno music. He achieved significant commercial success as a producer for Drake, contributing to the albums Honestly, Nevermind (2022) and For All the Dogs (2023), including the singles âStickyâ and âRich Baby Daddyâ. Blackmon released the studio album Diamante (2024) followed by the recording No Hay Verano Sin Gordo (2024).
