Lim Hyung-joo, born Hyeong-ju Im on May 7, 1986, in Seoul, South Korea, is a notable opera singer. He released his first solo album at age 12 in 1998 and debuted as a popera singer in 2003, gaining international recognition when he sang the national anthem of Korea at the inauguration of the 16th president of the Republic of Korea on February 25, 2003. This performance was broadcast internationally. Lim Hyung-joo's career includes performances at prestigious venues such as New York's Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, and Hollywood Bowl. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras like the Berliner Symphoniker, Wiener Sinfonie Orchester, and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Lim Hyung-joo is notable for being the first Korean artist to perform at all three halls of Carnegie Hall and one of the youngest to give a solo concert at the Opera Theater in the Seoul Arts Center.
