Biography

Leatherwolf, an American heavy metal band formed in Huntington Beach, California in 1981, emerged from the early 1980s Southern California scene with a lineup that included vocalist Carl Detkin and guitarist Scott Moore. The group released the Leatherwolf EP in 1984, followed by the Endangered Species album in 1985, which was issued in the United States as Leatherwolf and in Britain as Endangered Species. In 1987, the band issued the self‑titled Leatherwolf under Island Records, featuring the MTV‑aired single "The Calling". The 1989 Street Ready album introduced the single "Hideaway" and marked a shift toward a more metallic sound, with tracks such as "Wicked Ways" and the instrumental "Black Knight". After a split in 1992, the band reunited in 1999 and released the live album Wide Open that year. In 2006, the studio album World Asylum was issued, followed by New World Asylum in 2007, which replaced vocalist Wade Black with Michael Olivieri. Kill the Hunted debuted in 2022, featuring new vocalist Keith Adamiak and a lineup that included former members Rob Math and Wayne Findlay.
