Biography

The thirty-year veterans of Swiss metal are like a fine Valaisan wine: they age well. Formed in 1974, Krokus started out as one of the many bands heavily influenced by Deep Purple and AC/DC. After a more than mixed start, Krokus finally hit the big time with Metal Rendez-Vous (1980). Above all, Krokus opened the doors to the lucrative American market, with The Blitz reaching No. 31 on the Billboard charts in 1984. Without ever achieving a masterpiece or a landmark album, Krokus entered the metal landscape as a band of pure entertainment. Krokus' latest albums are among the best in their discography, especially Hellraiser (2008) and Hoodoo (2010). Dirty Dynamite is their seventeenth opus in 2013.
