Lala Karmela is an Indonesian singer-songwriter and actress born Karmela Mudayatri Kartodirdjo on April 2, 1985, in Jakarta. She performed with the music group Inersia, which released the studio recording Bersama. After her discovery by Ronnie Henares, she moved to the Philippines and signed with Warner Music. Kartodirdjo released her debut solo album, Stars, in 2007, which featured the recordings âWaitin'â and âUnsaidâ. She returned to Indonesia in 2009 and released the recording âBuka Semangat Baruâ. Her studio recording Kamu, Aku, Cinta appeared in 2011 through Sony Music Indonesia. The album featured the song âSatu Jam Sajaâ, which served as the theme for the 2010 film Satu Jam Saja. In 2013, she released her third album, Between Us, through Sinjitos Records. She also performed the composition âMalam Sunyi di Cipagantiâ for Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Her discography included the album Solina (2016). Kartodirdjo also appeared in the films Seleb Kota Jogja and Ngenest.
