La Revolución de Emiliano Zapata, a Mexican rock band formed in Guadalajara under Javier MartÃn del Campo's leadership, emerged during the late 1960s psychedelic rock era. The group gained local fame by performing at parties and won a radio contest, securing them an audition with a record label. In 1971, they released their self-titled debut record featuring "Nasty Sex", which became a hit both locally and internationally, earning them five medals from Polydor for high sales in the Americas, the United Kingdom, and Europe. The band's success continued with appearances in films like La verdadera vocación de Magdalena and the release of its soundtrack, which is considered the group's second album. As the hippie trend waned and political repression increased, the group faced lineup changes and shifted towards romantic ballads. In 1975, they achieved a revival with "Cómo te extraño", which became a major hit in Mexico.
