KUWATA BAND is a Japanese rock band formed in 1986, led by percussionist Norio Konno. The group features Keisuke Kuwata of Southern All Stars as part of the project. Their debut single "BAN BAN BAN" was released on April 5, 1986, marking their entry into the music scene with a vibrant and energetic track that quickly gained attention. Throughout 1986, KUWATA BAND released several notable singles including "ã¹ãããã»ãã¼ã (SKIPPED BEAT)", "MERRY X'MAS IN SUMMER", and "ONE DAY". These releases showcased the band's versatility, blending pop sensibilities with rock energy. Their only studio album, NIPPON NO ROCK BAND was released on July 14, 1986, featuring a collection of their hit singles and additional tracks that highlighted their musical prowess. The band's live performances were captured in their concert album ROCK CONCERT, released on December 5, 1986, providing fans with a dynamic representation of their stage presence. Despite disbanding in 1987, KUWATA BAND continued to perform sporadically without using the original band name and with additional support members. The band's influence persisted through reissues of NIPPON NO ROCK BAND and ROCK CONCERT, released on June 27, 1992, and June 25, 2001, respectively, ensuring that their music remained accessible to new generations of listeners. Additionally, the band's concert footage was compiled into a video release titled ONE DAY KUWATA BANDãROCK CONCERT, capturing their live performance at Toho Studio on October 19, 1986.
