Biography

Kult is a Polish rock band formed in 1982 in Warsaw by vocalist Kazik Staszewski, guitarist Tadeusz Bagan, drummer Dariusz Gierszewski, and bassist Piotr Wieteska. Combining alternative rock, post-punk, punk rock, jazz, and folk influences, the band became one of Poland's most influential rock acts. Their early releases included Kult (1987) and Spokojnie (1988). In 1993, the band released Tata Kazika, an album dedicated to the songs of Kazik's father, StanisÅaw Staszewski, followed by Muj wydafca (1994). Salon Recreativo (2001) earned the Fryderyk Award for Best Rock Album. The band's most recent studio album is Ostatnia pÅyta (2021). In 2025, Kult released the live album Kult Tenerife '24, recorded during the band's 2024 concert in Tenerife.
