Biography
Krzysztof January Krawczyk was a Polish singer, guitarist, and composer born on September 8, 1946, in Katowice. He began his career as a founding member of the ensemble Trubadurzy in 1963. He studied at a secondary school of music in Åódź and learned the guitar as an autodidact. Krawczyk began his solo career in 1973 and released the hit songs âParostatekâ (1975) and âPokochaj moje marzeniaâ (1975). He performed at festivals in Opole, Sopot, and KoÅobrzeg and toured throughout Western Europe and the Warsaw Pact countries. Krawczyk performed for Pope John Paul II in Vatican City in 2000. His recording career included the studio recording Daj mi drugie życie (2001) and the studio recording To co w życiu ważne (2004) which reached Number 1 in Poland. He received the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture â Gloria Artis in 2017 and a ZÅoty Fryderyk in 2021. Krawczyk died on April 5, 2021, from complications following a COVID-19 infection.
