Klein Orkest, a Dutch band, was formed in 1978 from a group working on an unfinished cabaret project titled Het Groot Orkest. Their breakthrough came with the release of their first single "Laat Mij Maar Alleen" in 1982. The following year, they released another hit single "Koos Werkeloos", which addressed political themes. In 1984, Klein Orkest achieved significant success with "Over de Muur", a song that became an anthem during the peace demonstration on Malieveld in Den Haag and remains a staple in the Dutch radio charts. The band released their album Roltrap Naar De Maan in 1985, which included children's songs and earned them an Edison Award in 1986. Klein Orkest disbanded after a final public performance on September 8, 1985.
