VOF de Kunst was founded in 1983 in Tilburg, Netherlands, as a pop group. Singer Nol Havens is the bandâs central figure. Under the name The Art Company, the group toured Europe. Their style ranges from pop to childrenâs music. Notable albums include Maandagmorgen 6:30 (1983, No. 33 on the Dutch charts), Dikkertje Dap â Bekende TV-Liedjes van Annie M.G. Schmidt (1991, No. 24), De Kunst Live (No. 45), and Sinterklaasfeest met V.O.F. De Kunst (1993, No. 91). Successful singles include âSuzanneâ (1983, No. 3 on the Dutch charts, No. 13 in Belgium), âOude Liefde Roest Nietâ (1984, No. 16) and âEen Kopje Koffieâ (1987, No. 5). Further albums such as Onbeperkt Houdbaar (1987) and Liedjes uit Sesamstraat (1995) followed. In the 1990s, the band focused primarily on childrenâs songs and successfully released albums such as De Griezel CD (1994) and Monsterhits (1998).
