Biography

Kitsch, a Catalan rock band from Bañolas, Spain, was formed in 1985 by Lluís Costabella and Joan Pairó. The group began their musical journey with two demo tapes, Les mosques (1987) and Capsa de trons (1988), before releasing their debut album, Kitsch, in 1990. Over the next decade, Kitsch released a series of albums including Kitsch II (1991), Kitsch III (Directe) (1992), and Kitsch IV (1995). Notable songs include "Oració" (1989) and "Presó mental" (1991). The band celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2005 with two live DVDs and a tribute concert featuring twenty local bands. In 2006, they released the live album Electrokàustic, which featured collaborations with artists such as Mon a la Cova and Agustí Busom, followed by Kitsch Deu in 2008.
