Biography
Ali Kiba, born Ali Saleh Kiba on November 29, 1986, in Iringa, Tanzania, is a singer-songwriter known for his contributions to African music. Raised in Dar es Salaam, Kiba began his musical journey after completing his 12th exam in 2004 with the debut song "Maria". His breakthrough came with the album Cinderella in 2008 and the subsequent release of Ali K 4 Real in 2009. In 2008, he collaborated with R. Kelly and other African musicians on the One 8 project, gaining international recognition. After a hiatus from 2011 to 2014, Ali Kiba returned with "Mwana", winning five awards at the 2015 Tanzania Music Awards. He signed with Sony Music Entertainment in May 2016 and left in 2021 to start his own label, Kings Music. His third studio album, Only One King, was released in November 2021 and won multiple awards at the 2022 Tanzania Music Awards.
