Kate Boy, a Swedish synth-pop duo from Stockholm, was formed by Kate Akhurst and Markus Dextegen. The group initially included former members Hampus Nordgren Hemlin and Oskar Sikow. All members contributed to writing, producing, and playing instruments. The band released their single "Northern Lights" in 2012, followed by The Way We Are in 2013. Their first studio album, One, was released in 2015. Notable singles from this period include "Self Control", "Open Fire", and "Midnight Sun" (2015). The duo continued to release music, including the singles "True Colours" (2017), "Dopamin" (2018), and "Giants" (2018).
