KatarÃna KuboÅ¡iová, known professionally as Katarzia, and born on February 9, 1989, in Nitra, Czechoslovakia, is a singer-songwriter and producer who began her career by studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Her breakthrough came with the release of her debut album Generácia Y in 2013. Katarzia gained recognition for her song "Kde sa slzy berú", which was named Best Single of 2017 at the Radio Head Awards in 2018. She collaborated with Jonatán PastirÄák on the music and lyrics for the Slovak National Theatre's adaptation of Antigone, earning Best Incidental Music at the 2018 Dosky Awards. Her subsequent albums include Celibát (2020) and N5 (2021). She has notably performed at the Sónar Barcelona and Nu Blu New York Club. In 2023, she released the album Šťastné dieÅ¥a. Katarzia has also been involved in activism, supporting various causes including women's rights and the LGBTQ+ community.
