Biography

Kari Rueslåtten, born on October 3, 1973, in Trondheim, Norway, is a singer and keyboardist. She began her career as the lead vocalist of The 3rd and the Mortal, a doom metal band, from 1992 to 1994, appearing on their demo The 3rd and the Mortal, EP Sorrow, and album Tears Laid in Earth. She then joined Storm, a Viking metal group, from 1993 to 1995. Rueslåtten's solo career began with Demo Recordings in 1995. Her first official solo album, Spindelsinn, was released in 1997 and received critical acclaim, earning nominations for "Best Vocal Artist" at the Norwegian Grammy Awards and "Best Female Artist" at the Hit Awards. Subsequent albums include Mesmerized (1998), Pilot (2002), and Other People's Stories (2005). In 2014, she released Time to Tell, followed by To The North in 2015.
